Alina Aref’yeva

National Stream Assistant Coach

Alina has been involved with artistic swimming for twenty years as an athlete and as a coach. After a successful career in artistic swimming, Alina shifted her focus primarily to coaching and was previously the Head Coach of another club in the lower mainland where she helped many athletes achieve podium results and guided athletes through National Team Trials at the Youth, Junior and Senior level.

Alongside coaching and competing, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia. Since graduating from university, Alina has been working in healthcare as a manager of a clinic where she gets to work with patients daily. In her spare time, Alina took an interest in Strength and Conditioning training as well as flexibility training helping her become a more well-rounded coach and allowing her to take a holistic approach to developing athletes from grassroots to high-performance level.

Alina joined PWAS with a passion for helping athletes achieve excellence in their sport. Getting to work with a tight-knit community, engaged athletes, and a welcoming coaching group has been nothing short of spectacular. The vision and drive of PWAS is the perfect place to be for coaches and athlete alike.
