Katie Stirrat

Competitive Stream Coach

Katie is a PWAS alumni who swam competitively with the National Stream Program from 2010-2017. During her competitive years with PWAS, she excelled in the sport, becoming one of BC’s top placing athletes in Canada, and competed with Team BC at the 2015 Canada Winter Games, both in team and duet.

Katie has since attended the University of British Columbia, where she received a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Minor in Education, and she is now pursuing graduate school to fulfill her dream of becoming a clinical counsellor. During her time at UBC, she continued to swim competitively with the UBC Artistic Swimming Club from 2017-2019, where she went on to win gold in both the team and duet event. Additionally, after her first year with UBC, she was invited to attend the 2019 Canadian Senior National Team selection camp.

Katie retired from competitive swimming in late 2019 and has since returned to PWS as a lead and assistant coach. She has been working with every age group but has primarily worked with the National Stream girls as an assistant coach and this year will be the lead coach for the Provincial Stream Beginner program.
